ANTI-RAGGING COMMITTEE​

About

The primary objective of the Anti-Ragging Committee is to prevent, prohibit, and eliminate ragging in all its forms within the college campus and its surrounding areas. The committee aims to ensure a safe, healthy, and fear-free learning environment for all students, particularly freshers, in accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Anti-Ragging Committee shall:

1. Ensure strict compliance with UGC and Supreme Court directives on anti-ragging.

2. Create awareness among students about the dehumanizing effects and legal consequences of ragging.

3. Monitor student activities within the campus, hostels, and common areas.

4. Conduct regular meetings and surprise inspections in sensitive locations.

5. Display anti-ragging notices, helpline numbers, and complaint mechanisms prominently.

6. Promptly inquire into complaints received and ensure confidentiality.

7. Recommend disciplinary action against students found guilty of ragging.

8. Coordinate with local police and civil authorities when required.

9. Submit periodic reports to the college management and regulatory authorities.

Procedure for Lodging Ragging Complaints

Any student who is subjected to or witnesses ragging may lodge a complaint through the following modes:

1. In-Person Complaint

     ✔ Report directly to the Principal, Anti-Ragging Committee members, or Faculty Advisors.

2. Written Complaint

     ✔ Submit a written complaint to the Anti-Ragging Committee or drop it in the complaint box available on campus.

Action on Complaints

1· All complaints will be treated as strictly confidential.

2· Immediate enquiry will be conducted by the committee.

3· Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken as per UGC norms, which may include:

✔ Suspension

✔ Fine

✔ Cancellation of admission

✔ Debarring from examinations

✔ Expulsion from the institution
