The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a voluntary public service program in India aimed at developing students’ personality through community service. It was launched in 1969 with the primary objective of involving students in various nationbuilding activities while instilling in them a sense of social responsibility and leadership.

The NSS motto, “Not Me But You,” reflects their core idea of selfless service and prioritizing the needs of the community.

NSS activities include health camps, Plantation, Road safety programme, Swachh Bharat abhyanga, Blood donation, Voting, Leadership skills, literacy campaigns, environmental initiatives, and other community development projects. Students enrolled in universities and colleges can participate in NSS to contribute to societal welfare and gain practical experience in community service
